Meet Janette

A designer, stylist, writer, editor and broadcaster, JANETTE EWEN has been one of North America’s leading decor and lifestyle experts for more than 15 years. Her experiential approach to creativity – “one must live it to create it” – is founded on a globally minded, multidisciplinary ethos that defines her life
and work. A former editor at such leading lifestyle publications
as Chatelaine, Canadian House and Home and Chocolat, Ewen
co-hosted the internationally syndicated TV series Inside the Box with Ty Pennington and is currently a regular guest on 14
national TV programs including Cityline, CTV Morning and Breakfast Television. As both a designer and a media personality, Ewen has continually sought to push the boundaries of design, challenging clients and consumers to focus on experience and historical reference over replication (and earning the description as a stylist “who gets it” from The National Post). Her design principles have been translated into action as a design partner
at the award-winning studio Parker Barrow Design and in her collaborations on spaces and products with a wide range of clients, including a renovated rooftop garden for the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto and an 86-piece furniture and accessories collection for the Montreal-based furniture company Mobilia.
Her design work has been recognized by the Design Exchange (Canada’s Design Museum) in Toronto, at the National
Home Show (where she designed the Dream Home for three
consecutive years) and through countless media outlets in North America, Australia and Japan. In 2016, Ewen was honoured
to be named a Celebrity Ambassador for Plan International Canada, a charity that is working toward ending global
poverty and improving the lives of children.
